Baby Love

Addison Elisabeth Hinton came one week early because she was breach. We had a scheduled C-section on September 4th. I don't know what it's like to have a baby the normal way, but a C-section isn't so bad. The worst pain was from the nursing stydent trying to put my IV in. The actual birth was 100% painless. I felt like an alien on the operating table though. Apparently the recovery is harder, but I have nothing to compare it to.

Since then we have been enjoying our beautiful baby. She is extremely sweet and cuddly, which we love, but sometimes we need a break from cuddling and Addie refuses. She is somewhat particular about a few things: she likes to sleep tummy down, car seats are the worst things invented--unless they are in a moving car...then they're the best, and she must be held ALWAYS. In fact she only sleeps on us, put her down and she'll wake up and scream within 5 minutes.

In the past several weeks Addie has become much more alert and smiley. She loves to smile at Mommy and Daddy. She also loves bath time except for the getting out part.

Here are a few of our favorite moments from the past 2 months, enjoy:

Pregnancy

Remember that time that I started a family blog and then never posted on it ever again?

Oh well...our life isn't that exciting anyways. Maybe now that our family is growing I will post more about what is going on. No promises, though. Lately I have gotten to be the size of a whale because I am 7 months pregnant. So that is fun.

Side View from last week (34 weeks)

Katie is apparently gleeful at the sight of my obesity. I have gained a mere 40+ pounds. So much for being one of those cute basketball in the belly moms. I took off my wedding ring last night, which was harder than one would hope, so that it doesn't get cut off in the hospital or something like that.

So our baby girl is due September 10th, and we are very excited/nervous. We like the name Addison (Addie), but we also have a few backup names in case she comes out looking not like an Addie. Our other favorites are Rebecca (Becky), Leah, and Heidi. If we don't use them on this baby we probably would use them later on. The only concern we have is that some relatives might steal our names before we get to them...but I guess that's just a risk that we'll have to take. We aren't sure about a middle name yet. The definite favorite is Lynn, but we aren't sure if it goes with Addison--Addison Lynn Hinton. I think it sounds good enough...we'll see.
